I am trying to gather info on the cooling style of turbine cards vs the 2 or 3 fan style cards. I remember seeing in a video something about turbo being bad, but I don't fully understand why. I can see how it would be more noisy. I understand the difference in radial fans vs normal but in a video card is it that much worse? Also could you swap out the turbo style set up to something else? I am looking at the rtx2080 super cards. I love the look of the "turbo" cards so I am hoping they aren't really bad.

They're better for small enclosures where you don't have much airflow. Otherwise, they're worse; you don't have as many fans cooling. It's pretty basic.

Okay I did end up finding an old video from linus saying that it really doesn't matter and in their test the reference card/turbo kept the entire machine cooler and there wasn't a noise difference. However after doing some more digging I am finding that the turbo style cards are typically more expensive with nvidia stuff.
