pyxel edit alternative

been using pxyel edit for it's pyxel pen and close color alternative button. before i swapped to linux i used paint windows 10 to sprite my physical sketches. some wine update broke pyxel edit, so it'll stop like the 64 bit version on launching. even tho theres no reason it should crash. need a recommendation.

This video has some great info:

Features paid and free programs too.

Doesn't say much about Linux compatibility though (the video creator is a MacOS user I think).

If you don't want to watch the full video, you can skip to 8:55 where he does an 'award ceremony' for the best options.

if theres a fix for pyxel, i'd like to hear it. that editor wasn't free, and i don't wanna throw buys on software thats gonna break if wine updates.
