UPS help

I've never had a UPS but some recent power fluctuations have spooked me. I'm looking at getting a UPS and surge protection. What do I look for?

For a budget I think under NZD$500 but I would like it to be as affordable as possible.

PC part picker says my two computers use 414W and 189W.

I'm also using occulus VR, a 50 inch LED TV, and a 144hz 1080p monitor.
