Don't go to high on the voltage, and watch temps, and you won't fry it.

Can you answer the question pls :(

@SAV1OUR I've had it for like 1 year.

but what happens as the chip dies? does it just degrade so far that it struggles to work? or will it just go POP

from what i have heard about chips getting too hot they just shut off automatically with a temp limit it should boot back after that just give it a bit to cool down though

Well I mean, I can push like 1.7v through it and temps would probably only be like ~85c  but idk if it'll like explode or what lolol

if it gets too past 100 it just shuts off thus the temp sensor hopefully it will close off in time and wont blow up

@SAV1OUR I've had it for like 1 year.

If you don't over do the voltage, the chances of issues are slim.

If you over do it, the chances are that the board will literally not work. And depending on your chances, there's a 70/30 that they won't take it having 70, and that they take it being 30.

Case: Lian Li PC011-D - CPU: 3900x - GPU: 2080ti Reference - Mobo: Gigabyte - Ram: Corsair 4x16gb 3200MHz - SSD: 2TB Samsung Evo NVME

If I was to fry my 3930k overclocking, what are the chances it ruins my board, and would Asus let me RMA it?

Would the chip just degrade to the point it'd need like 1.5v for 3.8ghz?  Or would it just.. make a loud noise and throw sparks everywhere? LOL

depends on mobo power handling. CPU could be stronger than the VRM, no guarantee

on which would pop first.
