buy a new side panel that fits your case, or try to find that side panel you lost

Well it’s an old unbranded case for some xp machine

well you can buy mineral glass and cut it to the shape of your case to make your own side panel, the side panel is held by screws, right?

From the looks i have on it right now in storage it seems to just pop on

OP has a machine with XP. Maybe he can't spend $40 on a case because reasons

I could eat for a month with that much, and decent meals not just that ready-to-eat tasteless stuff and mashed potatoes.

He's being suggested cut mineral glass for goodness sake!

If he really has ZERO money, get a piece of plywood, drill holes through it and the case and run bolts through them.

Because for a case that nobody knows what it is and where to get parts for, that's the best you're going to get for under $40.

Or like jonnyguru said, you can buy a full case under 40$, I've got a free PC case from a local PC repairing shop, so it's not that hard to find, if it's not a gaming PC any standard case will do the job

Also I meant acrylic glass

There are really not any local pc shops where i live and a normal case goes for $70 and don’t really wanna spend that much on this old pc so i will maybe just get some sort of panel and just put there with magnets

You'd still be better off buying another chassis. Or finding the old one.

If you just want a slipshod temporary, you can also just pick up any piece of wood or plexiglass that is big enough and tape it to the side for now. An XP machine is likely not worth spending money on.

Here's another option. Go to a recycling place, likely where you drop off old computer equipment and just ask if you can have one of the dropped off PC's and scavenge the case from it. The recycling place here had an entire pallet of Pentium 4-era systems that could have been scavenged if someone had been interested in it.

Yeah i don’t really need a good solution since it’s just going to be used for youtube and retro games and maybe windows xp is to low because there are good parts for that era just haven’t tried anything else on it

Probably, I once built a whole PC with only 30$ and it was able to run latest titles, at lowest possible settings though

Yeah i fixed the problem and btw this one is kinda beasty, but i just took another chassi side panel i had and it clipped on from the magnets maybe not perfect fit but still
