2080ti underperforming or cpu bottleneck?

Saber_Artori

my current setup is a strix 2080ti with a 3700x. i run a double monitor setup with both at 1080p but when i play beat saber on a rift s, it occasionally stutters which i feel like it should be the case, even when i was only running a single monitor setup. i have my 2080ti oc at +200mhz and +600 on memory but my heaven benchmark score seems a bit low. my temps are fine with gpu hovering around 70-80 under load and the cpu around 60-70 under load.

what psu, motherboard and ram config do you have? that cpu is more than cabable of running that gpu.

Not sure about the stutters but that score doesn't seem that low to me. I have an i7 8700k (stock speed) and a 2070 Super and I get a score of 3588 (142.5 fps) on the same settings.

could it be that i have a defective display port? one of my monitors is a 1080p 240hz the aorus kd25f and when i plug it into the second display port i was not able to get 240hz, only 144hz. while the other dp was able to get me 240hz. that is the port the rift s is currently plugged into when i game.

Maybe just a bad cable?

I am having some issues with the Rift as well but I think it was an update that caused it because it was fine a few months ago. Only Alyx is running perfectly.

Heaven runs on one core so that core needs to have high IPC and frequency to get a good score.

Even my i7 8700k that can only run at 4.9ghz was not capable of beating a 5ghz CPU in this bench even when I gave it my best 2080 ti(FTW3 Ultra).

This is stock on my EVGA XC computer.  One core runs at 5ghz so it will get a better score than a 3700X in this bench at these settings.

This is the FTW3 Ultra with its 24/7 overclock and the CPU at 5.1ghz. This is the system I use the Rift with.

For your setup use a more modern bench like Supersosition or the extreme versions of FireStrike or TimeSly.
