You and everyone else.  No one knows what zen3 is going to be.  There was one claimed “leak” that implied zen3 was kinda worthless and they wouldn’t be putting out a 6/12 chip at all.  Struck me as unlikely.  The no 6/12 thing could conceivably make sense if 6/12 wouldn’t game with the new consoles coming out. 

Not a pro, not even very good.  I’m just old and have time currently.  Assuming I know a lot about computers can be a mistake.

Lemme get this straight. You have a 3600 now. And you are wondering if you should get a 3700 or wait for the next gen Ryzen.

Well unless you can get your money back in full on that 3600. It'd be a complete waste to buy a 3700, as it performs the same to only a few percent better depending on task.

 

And as Bomb said, no one outside of AMD really knows what Zen3 is like.
