Gamers opinions needed

OK my family has an HTPC. 4K. 

Gaming is decent but I fired up CODBO4 and some zombies. Kinda looked sketchy. Texture detail high not max and effects at medium. Average FPS about 72.

Not looking to increase, but rather smooth the game play maybe.

 

Rig in original format in my sig.

Ryzen 5 1400 / Asus Prime A320M-K / Corsair LPX 3000mhz / GTX-980 Bios modded / EVGA 750 / HTPC

 

So I have hardware but having an issue making a decision. HW I do have....

2700X

Giga 2060 rtx

Faster memory 3600mhz..

Mainboard B450-I ROG asus.

 

Basically swapping my better hardware, but not sure on the board. 

I don't think the A320 chipset can handle the 2700X and will fry VRMs.

 

My kids don't typically play AAA titles. More Sims 4, Roblox, brick rigs ect and so forth. Nothing that seems to tax the system other wise.

 

What are your thoughs? 

Maybe save some energy and swap 980 and 2060?

 

Should I even bother with memory? I feel 3600mhz B-Die is better suited on my bench..... but have other kit to work with too.

 

Thoughts? Opinions? 

My issue: Don't wanna give up my faster hardware, but it may be better used in the HTPC.

The old memory is fine, the rest should be replaced

If someone donates their 2700X and B450 then they can get a 3900X or maybe that new 3900XT that's rumored.  Wouldn't you like that?  I bet you'd like that.

So I've got the rig on table. Maybe I'll do this now while there's a thunder storm outside.

Heres the boards swapped out.

2700x and B450I going in.

 

Gonna be quite the upgrade I think

Found 2 locked up Raijintek fans.

 

Will replace with these instead.

Case flow will never be an issue from here on out.

just about ready to install the tray. Need to be sure of fan clearances, the new ones are a tad thicker.

How to keep your cpu fan cable tucked away without zip ties.

With these fans, will make top intake just above the cpu because of the case and mainboard configuration. Board is horizontal instead of vertical which is nice to keep my video cards from sagging like most do.

Touch up a little more cable management and case panels. Should be ready to post soon.

Took longer than I expected. Swapping fans cleaning a bit. 

 

Hope this is all worth it..
