Hello. I dont seem to find any decent answers online. I have an nvme drive and i was wondering what exact slot to put it in. The current one i have it in disabled my sata port so im assuming it is in one of the sata ones. Will this slow it down or will speeds be about the same? I saw people saying it will only fit in the right slot which.... obviously seems to be false as i want it to be the fastest it can and im assuming that would be the pcie based port if theyre different. Also will this effect gpu speed or cut it down to 8 lanes? I saw people talking about the one closest to the cpu but no real answers about if that one is faster or not. It works fine in the slot its in but its not that much faster than my three ssds in the sata ports. It may have disabled two sata ports i didnt check and saw something about that if it does that then it should be fine in that port but im unsure of if thats correct. Please help.

the slot your using is fine, just move the sata's plugged into that lane. your motherboard manual explains all of this in good detail.

So the sata speed and the pcie speed is the same for it? The only difference is that using the pcie wont disable sata ports? Just seems odd because why even have a nvme drive if its just using sata ports
