Are External GPU's going to be "the next big thing", are manufacturers embracing the concept and developing it, if soo when should we expect them, if not, why ?

i think it will be a thing, but more on the low-end gpu's, for notebooks i could imagine a solution like that. but i dont think that enthusiasts would really accept it.

Sit won't be the next big thing. It still remains to see if it will be a thing at all (cost and performance). The benefits diminish with faster cards, and as integrated gpus get better.
