Hey guys, I'm recently been having problems with my setup which is as follows:

CPU: FX 8350 Unlocked (Not overclocked)

GPU: GTX 960 STRIX 2GB (Not overclocked)

Power Supply: Corsair CX750M

RAM: HyperX 8GB DDR3 (Single Stick) 1600Mhz

MOBO: GIGABYTE 78LMT-USB3

This setup is a little over 2 years old never had any problems, but recently it's been crashing (kinda like power cycling, no errors no BSOD) either right before windows loads or shorty after, mainly when there is any load on the GPU.

Originally I thought this was going to be a power supply problem, so I swapped it with 2 different supplies (ThermalTake TR2 600W and then after that didn't work I used my main setup's ThermalTake SMART RGB 700W, also no progress).

So not a power supply issue, so then I though ok maybe the GPU is shot, so I took out my GTX 1080 from my main rig, booted up and same issues, I also used the GTX 960 on my main rig worked PERFECT not one single problem.

So at this point I'm scratching my head, also just in case did a fresh install of windows on 2 different drives nothing. So the next thing I tried was just to boot windows without a GPU and it works just fine not a problem, it seems to only happen when the GPU is connected. Could this be an issue with the mother board, has anyone had this issue before?

I'm actually reinstalling for the 3rd time fresh install, don't think it will do much though :/

🤔 Don't even waste your time doing it. I'm assuming this is a power issue since your computer keeps rebooting, which makes the culprit either your power supply, or your motherboard. My primary suspect is the latter since numerous people have said that the VRM's for your motherboard can't handle much stress, some specifically pointing out your CPU as one that it can't really handle that well. I think its about time to replace it with a motherboard whose VRM's are actually worth the salt of the earth. I'm positive you'll keep having this issue until you do. I went through the same thing with my old motherboard that I found out was a piece of shit.
