I've been troubleshooting my newly built PC and I've been having problems installing graphics drivers. As soon as I do the screen goes blank and shuts off never to return. I have to boot in safe mode and remove the drivers with ddu. I went out and bought a different GPU and still same problem. Windows doesn't detect any graphics card just the basic windows display driver.

I have tried reseating everything, updating drivers for everything else, I tried flashing the bios but I couldn't figure it out.

Yep, looks like bios isn't detecting the card, in board explorer the pcie slot says that there is something connected but it's listed as just a VGA compatible controller

Have you tried a different PCIe slot?

Tried a different Mobo still the same

You sure the PSU is delivering power to the GPU?

Yeah I think the PSU is either faulty or underpowered. I plugged in an old 560ti I had and loaded drivers just fine. I'm running a 650w powerspec.

  • 2 weeks later...

I solved my own problem after a week and d half and I am writing this for anyone who is googling the same issue for an answer. It all ended up being the HDMI cable which was an old version and didn't display graphics after the drivers were installed. Once I swapped it the issue was resolved, it was mind boggling that it would display windows without drivers and nothing with drivers.
