Heho, I just bought a used switch (150$ for only the switch it self NO controllers!) tested it and then resested it

So now I turned it back off and it says put in the switch controllers, so well what now?.

Do I have to own the original controllers to start that bloddy thing, or can I press the a button or so to overcome it?

Im really worried cause the controller it self costs 70$ new and most used are broken...

kind regards Andrew

or do I really need the original switch controllers to start it?

You could get a pro controller but joycons are highly recommended as sometimes a switch can just not detect anything but those for some reason.

ok so not a must?

Sort off a lot of functions just won't work without a joycon and you can softlock yourself in multiple ways. So not a must isn't really true but you could technically do without.

well ... are you shure and what ya mean with softlock?

Just you get locked out of certain things.

If they did a factory rest you'll need joy cons to pair as it's part of the initialization, if not then you could use a pro controller, however there are some things that need joy cons like Mario Party and at certain points in Zelda breath of the wild.

Do I need the original dock or does a 3. party one also work?

IDK if it's been fixed or not but issues with 3rd party docks bricking Nintendo Switch's. https://switchchargers.com/nintendo-switch-bricking-faq/
