Simple question: Can you install windows 8.1 on multiple computers with the same disk?

nope. Never do that. It will deactivate windows on every single one of these computers within a couple of weeks.

Unless you're talking about the non OEM 250$ or 300$ version which has 3 licenses if I'm correct.

no, just the opposite. OEM= one key.

False. Unlike OSX where apple doesn't have any sort of real product key and just allows you to install on all family computers, windows will actually send the product key to some windows servers to check if it's legitimate. Then your second or third copy of windows will work and it will seem all fine, until two weeks later when they will start giving you errors that you may be using a counterfeit issue of windows, that you need to activate your product key etc.. It all seems good until you get those messages later on

no, regular Windows 8 disks will only come with one product key so that it can only be applied to one computer at a time (but you can reinstall on that one computer unlimited times).

There are corporate product keys that can be used on unlimited computers but is only activated when used with the corporation's internet (big business use them to update all their computers).

For regular consumers there maybe a package you can get for 3 computers which costs the value of 3 product keys. Basically you have to pay whatever the OS costs for each computer you want to use it on.

YES. You can use the disk as many times as you want. Like they've said though the product serial only once. Windows 8 is completely different then 7. I've used the ISO I've made with my windows 8 disk countless times. I own a boat load of keys though. As long as you use a different one at the beginning of installation each time it doesn't matter. The physical copy isn't smart. That's why it asks for a key every time. Hard to get a straight answer sometimes here.
