I've been using Norton 360 for the past year to protect my pc (just in case). I was wondering whether anything else out there is better in terms of performance and utility (or is it better to stick with Norton). It seemed like Norton uses a lot of cpu & memory, which can become problematic.

I mostly play games & purchasing a program shouldn't be an issue as you can get them for really cheap nowadays.

Avast!

I haven't used that in years, does it still pop-up every 8 milliseconds?

If you change the settings it won't otherwise some creepy voice notifies you every time that avast! automatically updates.

I really wish they would change the default settings to something more sensible so I don't have to go in and change the settings every time I install avast! on someone else's computer.

Personally I don't use any Antivirus program because ik from my experience that you can easily bypass it! I have malwarebytes installed and I scan my whole computer once a month.99% of the times is clean!I can't understand why you people download trojans!Seriously! If you want to check if a program is backdoored run it in sandbox or vmware and check!

Hey, so after trying Avast & AVG I don't seem to like the functionality of the programs, all the programs cost around 20 bucks on amazon for a year instead of their own website (70-100 bucks). What is the best purchased software that has really good utilities?

Until you go to an infected site and get viruses through iFrames.
