I’m new here so please let me know if this post is in any way a violation of rules.

I have a hard drive that has some sort of read/write head failure resulting in a sort of clicking sound. Today I opened the hard drive and found that the head was not stuck on the platter, but kept moving away from the platter and back towards it. Before you get on me about the dangers of amateur repair, I am fully aware of the risks and the data is of low value. I attached a video for you to see what is going on inside the hard drive. Is there any way for me to fix what is going on in here? I appreciate any help that is provided.

Do you care about the data on there at all?

That hdd looks dead, nothing you can do about it. Either toss it, or get a pro if you care about the data.

Okay. I would like to recover the data but there’s nothing of too much value and I can’t afford a pro. Thanks
