Are you now running on a non admin account?

Not a pro, not even very good.  I’m just old and have time currently.  Assuming I know a lot about computers can be a mistake.

No, full admin priveleges. The problem consists of me swapping the old hard drive (with the files) and making a fresh instal of windows on the new ssd. In the new and fresh OS I can't access the old files (which are in a usb capsule in the old hard drive)
