Possible dead motherboard

I have a msi b250m motherboard, a i5-7400 3ghz, a Radeon rx480 4gb, a 600 watt thermaltake 80+smart psu, and a kit of 2x8gb XPG Adata 2800 mghz ram. I was getting graphics related bsods, as well as massive stuttering in games like cs:go, and far cry 3, and constant crashes in Fortnite. I ended up taking out the  card and cleaning it with some cotton swabs and some  70% isoproble alcohol. I put the card back in, and it turns on, but i don't have ant video. I opened up the case after turning it off, and switching off the power supply. I then realized that i had forgotten to plug the graphics card in (silly me) and plugged it in. Since i have had no luck in a post, or even an EZ debug light. I have checked the card, PSU, and storage, and checked the power button. All good. What should i do? Is the motherboard dead, am i an idiot and forgetting something, is there any way to save it? It looks like i may be able to sell the CPU and dead board, plus a bit out of pocket to get a new mobo/CPU, and if so are the any comparable mobo/cpu combos, for like 150-250?

I assume that you are not getting the system to post after plugging it back in? you were not clear on this.
