HDMI 1.4 supports 144 Hz just fine.

Since when?

Dual Link DVI and DP are the only ones i know of supporting 144Hz.

Since version 1.3. It's been commonly implemented since around 2016. See section 5 here:

i was able to set the refresh rate to 100hz with the hdmi but will find a display port 1.2 since that seems to be the one that can supports 144hz

If thats true, thats no general 144Hz support over HDMI at all.

It's supported on plenty of monitors.

When i used HDMI, that wasnt an Option. But thats some years back.

But hey. I learned something today, which makes it a good Day.

Looks like DP is still the way to be certain  tho. Cant trust some Data sheets and what they claim. Keyword "responstime"
