Why Rx500 series can't play 8k video?

Sagor

If snapdragon 865 can play 8k video then why this beefy pc hardware can't play 8k video?

Can't amd or nvidia enable it via driver update?

Is modern pc processors or gpu slower than mobile gpu?

No, certainly not. The issue would be that the mobile chip probably has dedicated hardware for the codec in question, while the desktop GPU has not (or you're missing an up-to-date driver). Stuff done is software is usually slower than dedicated hardware.

~edit: Have a look here: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Unified_Video_Decoder#Format_support

This gives you an overview over which AMD GPU architecture supports which codec. As you can see 8K isn't mentioned, probably because it's still really niche.

So that special mobile chip dedicated hardware for the codec is more powerful than pc gpu processing unit?

No it's not but it's dedicated

The only thing it's optimized for is encoding not doing multiple things with multiple computing units like a gpu is

For e.g nvec encoder on nvidea

You can encode (imo best quality encoding out of all hardware encoders ) and doesn't have a toll on performance

Why ? Because it is a separate thing from the actual gpu and that is the only thing it is optimized for

Also numbers dont mean shit

8k recordings on the 865 sucks

It's so smoothed out and has so much noise

And let me not begin on the shutter speed

Numbers don't mean anything compared to the actual real life result
