I鈥檝e had issues with older monitors and older cards combined with newer drivers and newer OS.

聽Things that might or might not matter:

the port type on the monitor. 聽There seems to be serious compatibility stuff with DVI. Hdmi seems reliable regardless but a lot less love is being lavished on dviD.

Age of the driver. 聽I had a monitor literally just turn itself off on loading several times when I upgraded. 聽The generic video driver no longer considers itself compatible with my monitor for one thing.

age of the OS build. 聽Win10 apparently has several versions and they don鈥檛 all work the same.

Not a pro, not even very good. 聽I鈥檓 just old and have time currently. 聽Assuming I know a lot about computers can be a mistake.

Life is like a bowl of chocolates: there are all these little crinkly paper cups everywhere.

Might explain my problem, as I am using an old monitor, with DVI.

thanks will try!

I added some other stuff to that earlier post as I thought of it.

There are a couple options. 聽
#1 what other ports do you have on your monitor besides dvi? 聽

#2 if not, What kind of dvi is it (there are several)聽

To answer #1; Displayport//VGA

#2; DVI-D
