Ryzen 9 3900x + TUF GAMING X570-PLUS: a good idea?

Hi, I'm making a parts list for my dad and he wanna get off his old 8-core Xeon processor (E5-2670 for anyone wondering). I recently got him hyped up about ryzen and AMD in general and wants to do a full custom build now. My question is very simple: will this board handle the 3900x and if so, should I replace the cooler (i'm not planning to do any overclocking). Also, is the chipset fan gonna be loud inside the system?

The chipset fan is not loud at all, I have the same board.

I don't believe the 3900x comes with a stock cooler, so you'd need an aftermarket cooler. I'd recommend a 240mm AIO minimum, or a DRP4 or NDH14/15

I'm not SME, but it says on AMDs website that it does not come with a cooler.

https://www.amd.com/en/products/cpu/amd-ryzen-9-3900x

Even if it does, I would not put a stock cooler on a 3900x. Not only do I think it would do a horrible job, but if you're putting that much money into a CPU + Mobo combo, you should have the decency to drop a $90 cooler on it.

That board is more than enough for the 3900X, no issues at all. The chipset fan shouldn't be particularly loud, but if you are concerned about noise, I would consider buying an aftermarket cooler, as that will make a big difference in volume. The stock fan will be pretty loud under load. Something like the Scythe Fuma 2 or NH-D15 will be significantly quieter.

What case are you planning to use and what stores can you buy from?

I am running both, been fine, running a corsair H100i because I didn't really want RGB.

System with PBO runs at 60c under Cinebench R20, runs about 65c after 12 hours of folding.
