First PC build UK

Hi guys,

I'm new to PC building and want to build a gaming PC for myself to run every game at 1080p, 1440 if possible but not necessary. My budget is around £600 and would be very grateful for some help picking my components. I have these components picked out already but I don't know if they are trash or not!

Case: Corsair SPEC-01 RED ATX Mid Tower Case

CPU: Amd Ryzen 3300x

GPU: MSI 1650 super

Ram: Any standard 2x8gb 3200mhz/3000mhz

Motherboard: Amd B550

Power supply: not sure due to compatibility with GPU

Storage: Any 480-500gb SSD, maybe M.2 don't really know much about that?

Again if anyone could help I'd really appreciate it.

Thanks,

James

for a £600 gaming pc you're not going to get alot of stuff, the list that you made is pretty good for the ram you should go with this=

https://www.newegg.com/g-skill-16gb-288-pin-ddr4-sdram/p/N82E16820232756?nm_mc=knc-msnsearch&cm_mmc=knc-msnsearch-pc-_-pla-_-memory+desktop+memory+-_-g+skill-_-20232756&msclkid=6595b86ed2ba19a6ea23e6d50d8ef76c&gclid=CPTx-ZbjsOkCFdbZDQodOg0Bow&gclsrc=ds

i haven't checked if b550's have a m.2 slot but if the website says the motherboard has a m.2 then you should go with one

have you bought these components?

here is a list i compiled, should handle almost every game in 1080p, the power supply is a bit overkill might change it if i find something more reasonable for the price (keep in mind i didnt chose the corsair CX becaus it is listed for 60 pounds and its the 450 watt variant)

I don't disagree with your choices they are pretty decent

But what I would change is the case if you want something cheap , something like even a spec o4 looks alot better and is pretty cheap

The master box series from cooler master is also cheap and looks good (imo)

PC: Motherboard: ASUS B550M TUF-Plus, CPU: Ryzen 3 3100, CPU Cooler: Arctic Freezer 34, GPU: GIGABYTE WindForce GTX1650S, RAM: HyperX Fury RGB 2x8GB 3200 CL16, Case, CoolerMaster MB311L ARGB, Boot Drive: 250GB MX500, Game Drive: WD Blue 1TB 7200RPM HDD.

Peripherals: GK61 (Optical Gateron Red) with Mistel White/Orange keycaps, Logitech G102 (Purple), BitWit Ensemble Grey Deskpad.

Audio: Logitech G432, Moondrop Starfield, Mic: Razer Siren Mini (White).

Phone: Pixel 3a (Purple-ish).

Thanks for all the replies guys!

I can change the case that was just the first one I had found, I'm not fussed about RGB or the case aesthetic as it's going to be hidden in a desk.

One other thing, do you think I'd need extra cooling other than the stock cpu cooler?

And I chose the B550 for future upgrades as it has PCI 4.0 and will be compatible with future AMD processor's.

No it should be good with the 3300x

I recommend waiting not for pcie 4.0 but for the future compatibility just like what you said and the more robust vrm and capacitors

It depends. you can reach higher boost clocks with a better cooler but otherwise, its fine.

but if you plan to overclock (apparently these ryzen 3 chips overclock really well) , you might want to get a decent cooler.
