I would definitely upgrade that board, wait until B550 comes out and get one then. The board has tiny VRM heatsinks, I would go for a board like this one, that has larger heatsinks and some nicer features. If your case can fit an ATX board I would get a board like this, that is permium and has a big feature set.

So I’m planning on getting lots of upgrades to my PC in the near future but I want to see how much in my PC I can keep and have the PC still run fine.

 

So I’m thinking of getting a Ryzen 7 3700x and a RTX 2080 but will be going onto a B450m DS3H board from Gigabyte. Is this safe to do as I’m aware the board is more on the budget side or should I consider upgrading my motherboard as this isn’t safe to do. Also, if it isnt safe what do you guys reckon is the best CPU + GPU setup you can safety have on this board

 

Currently I have a Ryzen 5 2600 and a GTX 1660 super on the board.

It's a good motherboard but you are likely not going to have any option to upgrade the CPU to Zen3, so B550 or X570 is recommended here.
