Can see more frames when drunk.

So I got drunk last night and started watching some YouTube videos from vaatividya. Normally his videos look as smooth as any other channel, but they looked choppy to me. I decided to check if it was me or him, so I watched some Joshua Weissman videos and some LTT stuff. It turns out I can tell when a video is below 60fps much better drunk than I can when sober. And I mean much better. Normally 24FPS looks fine to me, but movies look more like slide shows than smooth film when I’m drunk. 60FPS looks more like 24 when I’m drunk.

I have an iPhone 8 and a 60Hz screen, so I can’t check higher refresh rates unfortunately, but I seem to be much more sensitive to smooth movement when drunk.

You're probably just not able to focus as well, and are stressing about something, so your brain uses some of its visual processing power on other things that it considers more important than "just watching some video".
