So I'm in a bit of a predicament right now. My old RX570 isn't powerful enough for some of the stuff I wanna do and I'm planning on upgrading to a 5700XT sometime this year. A family member of mine is putting together a rig, and their current parts list has a $240 1660 Super, which I recommended for a multitude of reasons. However, we were recently talking and I said how my GPU was worth about $120 and I was planning on replacing it. They expressed interest in buying the card from be because that's half the price of the 1660S, and they don't think they need the more abundant (and faster) memory and higher clocks. I would accept their offer, except that I don't plan on upgrading my card until after the big navi launch, because all of the prices will be shifted around and we don't know if something for better value will drop in my price range.

Big navi still not being on the roadmap means that it could take a super long time for me to upgrade my GPU, which means it would take until then for my family member to get their GPU. I'm conflicted because If I don't accept this offer, it's gonna be a pain to sell my GPU elsewhere.

So I've got two options: Sell my gpu to them and buy the 5700XT soon, and possibly regret it later once RDNA2 drops. Or, convince them to buy the 1660S, wait for RDNA2, and then either buy a 5700XT or whatever is out at the time, and also go through the pain of selling my old card on the used market.

I'd like some insight, thanks.

Id sell the 570 now and get a 5700 or 5700xt now. RDNA 2 is still at least 3-5 months away, unless you got an old GPU you could live with for that time.
