Hey guys I am very new to overclocking, I have recently overclocked my 5930k to 4.2Ghz and was wondering if these values are good for normal day to day usage including gaming.

Vcore offset +0.080 on volts through adaptive setting where it tops out around 1.155 volts 100% load in Atuning software, and CPU IO 1.125v.

It is stable I ran stability tests.

Everything else left untouched and left on auto.

Now the temps during Idle is around 36-41c but 100% load it sees around 68 max peak and 65 average. Is this safe temps for day to day use?

68°C is more than fine, you're good to go.

It's perfectly fine, usually temperatures between 85C-90C and up can shorten the life of the CPU even then it won't be much. So you're perfectly fine, you'd probably be fine even with an overclock to 4.5ghz. But if you want to be 100% safe then ideal temps are 80C or lower

Looks like normal 5th gen HEDT figures, bet you could push about 4.5 with 1.25 volts or less.

I WILL find your ITX build thread, and I WILL recommend the SIlverstone Sugo SG13B

Draws 400 watts under max load, for reference.

How many watts do I need?

  • 3 weeks later...

Hey guys so I got a nh-d14 cooler and it gave me a good amount of OC room.

My current cpu vcore using offset is 1.50, with offset at +.070v running 4.2ghz with temps on 60c max 100% sustained load.

I wanted to push the OC to 4.4ghz at 1.250v with  +.170v offset but I was wondering if I should change the cache speed? Its at the stock 3000 mhz. No voltage offset to it on auto.

Also do I meed to change the vccio voltage from stock?
