GPU compatibility

I'm new to PC building and I'm looking at GPU options and I mainly see gddr5 and I come across a 5500 xt but its gddr6 and I don't know if it would be compatible with a MSI b450 tomahawk max

You don’t have to worry about graphics card compatibility like you do with ram or a cpu. Any graphics card made in the last 10 years or so will work.

Oh cool thanks u I thought it may be something like ram when I saw the DDR part of gddr6 so I thought maybe it was a different slot
