Hello, thank you to all the wonderful people who help others on these forums.

I have an Asus B150M-A D3 motherboard. The fan is stopping the PC for turning on, a speed issue. I was looking at replacing the fan. Do I just need to make sure the it is an Intel 1151 socket and that there is enough physical space?

Could anyone suggest something current? I am in Australia and I tend to use these two shops normally

that is the best for price to performance from those all.

yes you pay 4$ more of rgb. if you do not want to pay the 4$ get the blacked edition isntead.

You should actually be able to disable the Ffan-check while booting up. This will ignore the fan speed and will let you boot normally.

did you really just steal my thunder like that :l

was just about to post that exact message, oof

No hard feelings tho, makes no difference who tells, just as long as the problem is solved

Edit: spelling

Thanks but my son was trying to be proactive and clean his computer and broke 2 of the pins. I think the computer will also benefit from a fresh cpu fan. I greatly appreciate the advice.

I use the same one for 2 years now. Works great and is very affordable.

Pins on mobo side? You would still need to use another header for fan and disable warning. Getting new cooler won't change that. What case you have? Case will determine if you need to look for smaller cooler. Though 212 BE is 159mm so it should fit most cases.

Thanks heaps SavageNeo

I checked that and the non RGB and both are pre-order status on stock. I was hoping to go into the shop tomorrow and know what I need without being upsold on the item.

Is this ok? It is Socket 1151 and 4 pin connector, they are only things I know to check for, the rest I have no idea about.

The pins on the bottom of the cooling fan that drop down into the holes in the motherboard.

The pins are motherboard side of things.

Sorry, my lack of description isn't helping. The pins are more the securing mechanism located at the bottom of the fan/heat sync. Two are broken, so it will not firmly lock into place. This pretty much  is what is in the case at the moment.
