Do I need a capture card for streaming

Finaly decided I'm going with this ASUS ROG Strix GeForce RTX 2060 Super Advanced Overclocked EVO 8G GDDR6 HDMI DisplayPort USB Type-C Gaming Graphics Card (ROG-STRIX-RTX2060S-A8G-EVO-GAMING). Am I going to need a capture card I feel I want to stream my gameplay?

I edit my posts a lot, Twitter is @LordStreetguru just don't ask PC questions there mostly...

Spoiler

What is your budget/country for your new PC?

what monitor resolution/refresh rate?

What games or other software do you need to run?

i dont think so. it just frees up the cpu so you both get more frames in your games and to stream at a higher quality.

GeForce experience, which you may have used to download your drivers, has a full suite of features for recording gameplay.

I WILL find your ITX build thread, and I WILL recommend the SIlverstone Sugo SG13B

Primary PC:

i7 8086k - EVGA Z370 Classified K - G.Skill Trident Z RGB - WD SN750 - Jedi Order Titan Xp - Hyper 212 Black (with RGB Riing flair) - EVGA G3 650W - dual booting Windows 10 and Linux - Black and green theme, Razer brainwashed me.

Draws 400 watts under max load, for reference.

How many watts do I needATX 3.0 & PCIe 5.0 spec, PSU misconceptions, protections explainedgroup reg is bad

A capture card doesn't do any work to encode the signal, your CPU or GPU still has to do the work, it just lets you add things like consoles or cameras to the stream.

You dont need to have a capture card but if you gonna want to be serious about streaming your games you should get one since it a capture card will lead to higher/more stable FPS (because your CPU and GPU are not going to get stressed for streaming) and it will have better quality (Nvenc is good but still compressed)

My suggestion is to just use nvenc and if you are satisfied hold on to it.

A capture card still uses and taxes the system. So it’s gonna end up being the same. For a single pc setup.
Not like it does anything by itself.
Id pass on getting one now and just use a program like obs.
