I was recording some audio with everything working perfectly and halfway through, with nothing changing the audio levels go down massively so much so the recording was inaudible! I'm using Realtek drivers and this Mic https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B07SHSHW6H/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o02_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1. Problem was not with recording software as the issue occurred with discord and onboard recording software. The problem is probably not down to drivers (as updated them yesterday).

Edit: Not the Mic as I just tested it on another pc.

Any help or references would be greatly appreciated and if I missed any info reply and I will provide!

Disable automatic driver installation in Windows. Reinstall Realtek driver.

Well the problem couldn't have been the mic since it's analogue not digital, I'll have to put my money on the issue being a combination of drivers and onboard audio sucking.
Next time it happens try restarting the audio service and see if that fixes it either temporarily or permanently.
