Any low-mid end P and RTX series Quadros actually better than 2080Ti for CAD and UE4?

Go to solution Solved by databreach,

You can't get a good quadro GPU nowadays with RTX for 1000$. I recommend going with RTX 2080/2080ti. Also to answer your question you can do heavy cad work and gaming with a 1070 (at least my dad does it). I can't see how a 2080ti or 2080 would struggle. Ryzen 9 3900x is enough I think at least nowadays (no problem with v-ray / revit / other CAD stuff).

Need a GPU for a CAD teacher's future workstation. Will be doing low to intermediate levels of CAD projects, and wants to dabble with Unreal Engine 4 a lot more soon. Rendering times are to be as low as possible. My current GPU budget is $1000-1200. (If I go with an R9 3900X, $1200, if I go with an R9 3950X, $1000. (I also need to know if I should go with an 3950X, I can see the benefit, and 2nd gen TR is prob not a good idea atm, but does the boost a 3950x gives outweigh the cost for my budget?) https://pcpartpicker.com/user/nathanpete/saved/#view=cjpW3C Also wants to do a little AAA gaming, but u can still game on a Quadro if gaming isn't the primary purpose. Basically: Do I still need a quadro for non-super complex CAD and UE4 in today's world? I know the 2080ti will still render hella fast, but are there Quadro's under $1200 that would do it better/faster?

Fuck you scalpers, fuck you scammers, fuck all of you jerks that charge way too much to tech-illiterate people.

Unless I say I am speaking from experience or can confirm my expertise, assume it is an educated guess.

Current setup: Ryzen 5 3600, MSI MPG B550, 2x8GB DDR4-3200, RX 5600 XT (+120 core, +320 Mem), 1TB WD SN550, 1TB Team MP33, 2TB Seagate Barracuda Compute, 500GB Samsung 860 Evo, Corsair 4000D Airflow, 650W 80+ Gold. Razer peripherals.

Also have a Alienware Alpha R1: i3-4170T, GTX 860M (≈ a 750 Ti). 2x4GB DDR3L-1600, Crucial MX500

My past and current projects: VR Flight Sim: https://pcpartpicker.com/user/nathanpete/saved/#view=dG38Jx (Done!)

A do it all server for educational use: https://pcpartpicker.com/user/nathanpete/saved/#view=vmmNcf (Cancelled)

Replacement of my friend's PC nicknamed Donkey, going from 2nd gen i5 to Zen+ R5: https://pcpartpicker.com/user/nathanpete/saved/#view=WmsW4D (Done!)

I don't need an RTX Quadro tbh, a P-series card will do, but on PCPP it is either an RTX 4000 for $900 or an P5000 for $1600, and neither are good (RTX 4000 < 2080ti, and I can't afford a P5000), and would either do better than a 2080ti if gaming isn't the primary use? The 3950X vs 3900X was the question of core count. 16C/32T or 12C/24T, and does the price justify it?

I can't see how they can do better than a 2080ti which has double the render config of a p5000. Quadros are just overpriced because of branding for professionals but I can perfectly imagine a professional using GeForce RTX cards.
