Looking to Upgrade Case

So this Christmas I think I'm going to splurge and get myself a new case. I was looking at the Evolve X as I've been a Phanteks fanboy since 2014. My only issue is to the right of the motherboard are those cable management sliders. This is normally where I put my Pump/Res combo. Now I don't mind modding to make it work however my question is are those sliders sturdy enough to handle the weight of a hefty pump/res. And would there be foreseeable issues with drilling 2 holes to screw into.

I've attached a photo of my current loop layout for reference. I'd like to keep the same layout if possible (except I'd probably do a vertical mount for the new case since that is an option.)

Thanks for any help!

So those 4 things which would be behind your pump/res are the sliders you're talking about?

I've never handled one, but I could see it being a little dicey rigging a jug of water onto things that are probably flimsy. You could probably fashion some sort of bracket onto the bottom of the case to hold it.

Oooooor, you could double down on your splurge and get a Distro plate.

That would be a wifi card I got in college when hard wiring was not an option and my old mobo did not have wifi onboard. I've removed it since that pic. But nice catch I didn't even notice it was in that pic.

@Statik I have thought about a distro plate but I really do like the look of the pump/res on the side. On my current case they are just metal plates back there to attach drive bays. I've watched a few reviews and I can't tell if the sliders are metal or plastic on the Evolv X and like you said if they are fashioned in a way to allow pressure on them. If they just pop out from the front they'll likely do that with the weight of the pump/res. I like the case but $200 bucks is a lot so I'd rather not compromise.

I'm 100% with you, I wouldn't want to risk it either. And I totally understand. Distro plates are sick and all, but I don't know if anything beats the good old pump/res.

I did a little digging for you, and if you go to 6:50 in the following video, it's confirmed that they are plastic, and just judging by how they're attached, and how they slide, I would (personally) never ghetto rig a big jug of water to them. But I suppose you can decide for yourself haha. Best of luck.

Thanks for the help. If they were metal I might risk it but plastic is too risky for me. Looks like I'll be keeping my eye out on another option.
