I have recently just bought a gigabyte rtx 2060 windforce oc Rev 2.0 and once I’ve put it into the motherboard and connected the HDMI and psu I turn on the pc but there is jus a black screen and after a while it says there is no HDMI detected. Have a 600w psu cooler master silent pro and a old motherboard with a pcie gen 2 x16 slots. Don’t know what the problem is.

Most monitors have the option to cycle through inputs, check that first, ensure your cable is, actually, connected right.

I know some of the ATI cards needed UEFI to boot and display, dunno if that's the issue with nVidia cards, but it might be something to look into

Does your motherboard have any built in display ports like that you can plug into your monitor?  If so, I'd do that and see if your system is even detecting the new hardware.

Jeez what CPU are you running?

Edit: pcie Gen 3.0 was a thing in 2010 so you mobo must be pre 2010?

Have you tried both 16x slots?

Note them being Gen 2 doesn't really matter as 3.0 cards are all backwards compatible with 2.0

How?

According to your manual. You have a jumper pin, it is a pair of pins that are likely labeled Clear CMOS or Clear RTC or similar. What the manual says is to turn the PC off and short the pins out with a metal object.

Manual here (zip file) https://download.msi.com/archive/mnu_exe/E7732v1.0.zip

The jumper pin will look like those two pins next to the battery in this image. This is just a random picture of a similar pin so you have to look for it but now you know what it looks like.
