Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-7400 CPU

16 GB RAM

64bit Operating System

Nvidia GeForce GTX 1050 Graphics Card

So I've been having similar problems with a bunch of games which is extremely long loading screen times(and not loading at all sometimes), textures not loading/taking long to load in game, lagging audio even.

Games like Assassin's Creed Origins, DOOM, Sekiro... but also with games like TheCycle or Fortnite or Apex Legends. (All of which are installed on my external 1TB HDD)

I've also had a problem with CSGO which couldn't update(it would start updating then pause and start over) for some reason and I had to reinstall it for it to work.

Having games or really any program on a USB hard drive is going to be a bad time. USB just doesn’t have the IOPS needed for programs to run well. Yes, they work, but they don’t work well.

So do you think getting an internal HDD will fix the problem?

Are the games installed on an internal drive working fine? If so, then definitely yes. USB just isn’t made for that type of use.

The only game that is on my SSD by accident is Control xD and it has never experienced any of what I said so I guess you're right

How big is your SSD? They are getting relatively cheap these days...

If you can afford a larger SSD to throw games on, never a bad option. Other wise something like a 2TB hard drive is usually a good option.
