I am building a new system soon with a 3600 and a 1660ti. I have looked at seasonic units but saw that on their higher units they had some issues with inrush voltages being too high when reading reviews online. Is this a problem with the focus gx line? I am thinking about getting a focus gx 650 or a prime gx/px. Are these good quality units or are the inrush too high?

Don't get high-wattage PSUs then, you don't need more than 300W for this. Regardless of that, high inrush current assuming it's not like sky high (100A or smth) is more like an inconvenience than a real issue.

UK. Looking at my (albeit old) fusebox there is two 30 amp fuses and four 5 amp fuses between them. There is a sticker that says the load should not exceed 60 amps but I am not sure if that was there with the current fuses or if there were older fuses with lower amperages.

I thought the newer GX/Prime GX/PX units had fixed the old issues of the focus plus?

I had also looked at the thermaltake toughpowers. They seem alright from a brief look (?)

Thermal take Tough power are overpriced and very mediocre. I would not recommend them. Especially when the similarly priced Corsair RMx are world's bettee

Thanks for the links, what differs between the prime ultra and lines like the prime gx (650w is only a bit more, could give some upgrade headroom)? Would either stand a risk of tripping a fuse? Sorry if these sound like dumb questions, never really looked into electronics and with an older fuse box it leaves me a bit worried.

Seasonic makes great PSU,so if you can afford go for Platinum model...your GPU is not power hungry so you are good to go even with Focus Edition..there is some issue with that model,I forgot what is it,so that is why I'd go for Platinum model.

EVGA G2 G3 series is alternative...or Corsair RM HX series though you will pay a bit more $.

Please do not take offence for my apparent confusion or rudeness,it's not intent me to be like that,it's just my BPD,be nice to me,and I'll return twice better,be rude and usually I get easly pissed of...I'll try to help anyone here,as long as it's something I dealt with, and even if you think I'm rude or not polite, forgive me,  it's not me it's my BPD.

Thanks for understanding.

They're exactly the same price.

A bit better electrical performance. But Corsair RMx wouldn't be too far either.

Unless you're planning to do workstation related stuff on this PC the answer is no, in gaming 550W PSUs would be enough for pretty much any build.

Reviews don't indicate issues with Focus of Prime lineups, i have no idea what you were talking about in the first post.

I had read some stuff about inrush current tripping fuses/breakers with some people. Seeing as on some Seasonic units the 230v inrush ca get to 56amp I guess I just got a bit worried. Not to good with this kind of stuff.

I see, you're likely confuse inrush current tripping with tripping on high transient load GPUs like AMD Vega, if you don't plan to use AMD Vega then it's okay, it were fixed in Focus GM\GX and didn't present on Prime in the first place.

Wouldn't put it past me lol. I see though. Thanks for the help. I think I'm leaning towards a Prime GX or Ultra since I've read pretty good things about them.
