I tried playing Minecraft wtih RTX on and it worked just fine, but then when I started over clocking with MSI Afterburner, it would crash. Any ideas as to why? I have a RTX 2080 Super.

Dont overclock then. Some cards (especially high end custom ones) can come maxed out from the factory

Overclocks can introduce instability. You can only raise the clocks so much before weird stuff starts happening. In some cases raising the voltage can stabilize it (to some extent), but there are limits. And not all chips can overclock to the same limits (aka "silicon lottery")

 

I'm sure someone can give you a better answer, but you may want to provide more details (how much did you overclock it, what exactly did you change, frequency, voltage, etc.) and also the particular model of the card.

I increased the Core Clock by 188 and Memory Clock by 374, I also ajusted the GPU fan curve. The exact model is GIGABYTE GeForce RTX 2080 Gaming OC 8GB Graphic Cards GV-N2080GAMING OC-8GC.

And how much extra voltage did u give it ? 188 is not an insignificant OC for the core.

Likely.. whats it boosting to when under load ?

 

Adding voltage can help stabilize an OC but more voltage = more power, and most cards have a power limit built into the bios that can only be circumvented with a custom bios.

Well the easiest way to get a basic OC is to use MSI's OC Scanner built into MSi afterburner. takes about 15-20 mins iirc. Likely wont give the max OC , but should give u a stable one.
