Hey everyone - I鈥檝e run into some unforeseen issues where my GPU has died.聽

It was older, a 660ti that I picked up used 3+ years ago.聽

Ive already got a replacement GPU a friend gave me (at no cost 馃槶) and another friend has donated a case to the cause.聽

But want to take this opportunity to rebuild my Frankenstein machine into something a bit more elegant.聽

For starters my current PC build聽

Mobo:聽Alienware X51 Series Intel H61 Socket LGA1155

CPU: Intel Core i7 3770 @ 3.4ghz聽

CPU fan: Acer HI 10800 & 100mm cone fan

GPU: EVGA聽GeForce GTX 660ti

PSU: Corsair semi-modular 450M

RAM: 2x Nanya 8GB @ 1600mhz

HDD: WD500GB @ 7200rpm

Case: HP Gateway DX4840

I鈥檇 like to reuse as much as possible,

Mainly the PSU & CPU.聽

What I have to build with is

GPU: Dataland R9 270 4GB dual fan

CPU: as previously mentioned聽

Case: CoolerMaster Stryker (CM Storm)

all in all, I鈥檓 looking for a new motherboard, possibly new PSU to support the upgraded GPU, RAM and most likely an SSD to offload my OS onto.聽

Of course I can always resell the 660ti, PSU and RAM if I鈥檓 going to be buying new anyway聽

Any further questions please feel free to comment or pm me!

thanks all

just keep the board and RAM if you keep the CPU. CPU is what determines the process power of the system, board and memory support it. 16GB should be plenty for a 3770 already

Your options are basically go onto the used market and find whatever is available. No one can really help you pick out parts since they're no longer made anymore.

For PSU, just get something CXM based. SSD, something SATA, and go for the largest size you can afford.

Would it be better just to sell and start over new? What would the approx re sell value be聽

Probably.

No idea, you'd have to check your local market and price accordingly. Unless someone lives exactly where you live, no one can tell you what your items are worth.
