Thinkpad X220 flickering screen

Go to solution Solved by ThePCRunners,

I just disabled "Display power saving technology" in Intel Graphics Settings, it seems like it fixed it, I'll restart my laptop to check if it's really gone, I'll update after I restart

Hello, I recieved a laptop from a friend that has a flickering screen when not connected to power supply.

Also the flickering stops anytime I open an app (Explorer, chrome, task manager....)

The flickering occures when windows starts (before entering the user), after I did all of the updates it stopped doing it on the desktop, at least for now but it is doing it when restarting the computer and windows starts.

I tried many things but none worked. The laptop barely has apps in it as it had a reset not too long ago.

Thanks a lot for your help!

I hope that I uploaded the topic to the right place, if not then tell me please and I'll repost it in the right section.

EDIT: It also occures when I click on the "Search" in the buttom bar.

make sure the display is set to 60hz when it's not connected to power in the intel graphics settings.

Thanks for your respond!

I checked it earlier and it was set to 50 Hz, changed it to 60 Hz but it didn't make a change
