Civilization 3 rig

Hey one of the guys at my work has an older PC with a AMD A10-6700, he says it really chugs along and he really only uses it to play Civilization 3 and hes thinking of just getting me to build him a new rig. What is he gonna need to run that game? I dont play it so I have no idea. Hes an older guy that told me he has no desire to play anything else lol, so im not worried about over building it as much as making sure he can run his game at 1080p smoothly. Main thing I need for suggestions is just the CPU and GPU, everything else I can handle. And is this a game where he could just play it on a 3400g well or does he need better than that?

He probably just needs to reinstall windows

 

if he just wants a new PC an R3 2200G with 3200mhz CL16 RAM is fine.

I was saying the same thing, probably just need to dump everything and start from scratch, hes running windows 8.1 for fuck sakes but I was thinking his PC should have been able to run that game without issue

A faster CPU will still help with the turn calculation for AI opponents in any event, and having an SSD as well. Probably using that Gigabyte B450 ITX motherboard if he wants a tiny system

 

 

Should really just hop on a VPN and get him 4/5/6 to try out as well though.
