Better is pretty subjective.  The pricier ones have higher clocks and tend to have bigger coolers so they’re quieter.  A lot of it is how much you value noise.

Not a pro, not even very good.  I’m just old and have time currently.  Assuming I know a lot about computers can be a mistake.

Unfortunately there always seems to be bad eggs in team green and red. I was nervous about getting mine (on day 4 of running it) because of all the bad driver reviews but it works great. As for the MSI build, it seems good, nice back plate and thermals and the fan is pretty quiet even at max speed. No complaints here.

They all generally perform the same in terms of fps as long as cooling is okay, and the biggest difference is how loud they are.

I personally would not pay $100 more for a high end model (cheapest at $360, most expensive are around $460) as I'd just get a 2070 super for $499.

I have a cheap one (XFX RAWII) and it performs great if not a but loud.

Lets take the noise factor out, I've read that the blower cooler style by radeon runs hot. So that would factor into performance.

Meh.  The difference between a low clock and a high clock is negligible.

tl;dw; they are all pretty much the same performance wise, but some are louder and hotter than others.

Hardware Unboxed is a bit more digestible, if not quite as in-depth.

But yeah, for the 5700XT, beyond the poorly designed broken models (ASUS TUF, blower to an extent), you're paying for how loud the fan is and how it looks.

I am planning on getting the RX 5700 XT - I am thinking of either the Sapphire nitro+ or the Red Devil. I'm honestly leaning towards the Sapphire. Any one have any experience with either or could recommend a better brand of this GPU?

Sapphire is good, if i HAD to go with AMD i would pick them.

BUUUTTT I figured a little more research couldn't hurt. This dang card is about what I paid for my Xbox 1

it's really hard to justify IMO. in the states, you can get a decent lower priced 5700XT for $360. The Sapphire NItro+ and the Power Color Red Devil are between $430 and $460.

$100 more for....a quieter product - these cards don't really overclock too well anyway, so it's mostly finding a card with settings so it doesn't throttle itself.

For $460, I'd rather pay another $40 and get a 2070 Super imo. But a $360 5700 xt is fully $140 less than a 2070S.

They had one that was $359 a while ago, but it seems to have gone.

even from $379 to $429 is a $50 difference. Up to you i suppose

That 429 is one of the lowest prices i've seen the Nitro+ for in a while

I have had two of their GPUs (GTX 460 and GTX 1060 3gb mini) and they were fine.

They're smaller than ASUS/Gigabyte/EVGA, but honestly i'd rather have them than anything ASUS makes these days.

here's a different one for $499

between this and the $429 5700 XT, I would take the 2070 Super. It has semi-usable RTX, DLSS, and also NVENC if you decide to stream.
