I have never built or spec'd a pc. I bought my first computer about 4 years ago and have upgraded it so I can manage my way around the inside of a computer. I am hopefully heading off to college in the fall but am looking to build something before I go. Mainly I will be playing games and possibly doing some cadd and/or heavy data analysis. Ideally I would like:

As small form factor as possible

Ryzen

Nvidia (I don't need RTX but am not against it)

As quiet as possible but not an AIO

Budget of 1000-1400

I don't need a peripherals

Little to no RGB

Sorry, I'm new to this, let me know if you need anything else.

If you want to take it with you I'd just get a laptop.

Otherwise, since you're not building right now, just wait another couple of months and grab the newer Ryzen stuff.

Since prices change rapidly, any other planning is best done then as well.

You also need to clarify where you live. 1000 could mean dollars, pound, euro, etc. There's also 15 or 16 countries that use the dollar, so just saying dollar won't help.

Yea sorry about the money thing. I read that just completely forgot to add it, it's USD. Thank you for the advice, I will see what gets released later this year.

This is cheaper than the build above, you probably don’t need a 2080 super

Also, for some reason the 2600 is cheaper than the 1600, the 1600af is over 140 on amazon

Which is far better for less.

When using stock Wraith coolers in the Sugo, it's best to have an SFX PSU so that the CPU can breathe better. This list is recommended.

I WILL find your ITX build thread, and I WILL recommend the SIlverstone Sugo SG13B

Primary PC:

i7 8086k - EVGA Z370 Classified K - G.Skill Trident Z RGB - WD SN750 - Jedi Order Titan Xp - Hyper 212 Black (with RGB Riing flair) - EVGA G3 650W - dual booting Windows 11 and Fedora Linux - Black and green theme, Razer brainwashed me.

Draws 400 watts under max load, for reference.

PSU tier list

How many watts do I need?

PSU misconceptions, protections explainedgroup reg is bad
