PC VIBRATIONS!?

Hey Had a quick question...

My washing machine creates a lot of vibration. 

My PC is 1 floor above this room with the washing machine. 

Is this bad long term for components In the PC? it's a desktop PC I built.

Without knowing how much vibration makes it to your computer it's hard to say for sure what the long-term effects will be. Components like hard drives have very little tolerance for vibration while running, so that would be my biggest concern.

 

Sounds like what you really need is a new washing machine

Unless there's something wrong with your washer (like being out of balance) it's fine. Our washer is on the same floor, and one room away from my PC. It's been fine all these years.

Your building must not be made to code if you can feel vibrations on desk on room above or below the one with washing machine. In building build to code, walls and other strong parts are suppose to absorb any vibrations, be them from outside or inside (earth movements, traffic etc.)
