So i'm looking for a new GPU that could handle games pretty well. Right now the GPU i own is a GTX 770 and I need something better. I don't have a fix budget but my max would definitly be like 1000$ (It can go a little higher if not too much)

Thanks for anyone helping!

Oh and by the way my CPU is an Intel i7 4770k

If you have a 1000 dollar budget you could build a new pc, and maybe use some of the old parts.

Laptop: HP Spectre x360 13t, i7 8565u with 16 gigs, 512 gig  nvme ssd, UHD 620 4k

Other laptop: Acer Chromebook cb3 431 with 4 gigs, celeron n3060 with hd 400 and 16 gigs eMMC soon to be a minecraft server?

1000 dollar budget- Holy f. you could get rtx 2080 ti. but what resolution you play on?

i would sell your system and build somethin like this, since your cpu is a bit uoutdated but still not that bad:

(assuming that you get around 500 dollars, if you sell the system)

I wouldn't say it's that worth it when i can just replace my GPU

It is though. For 1000 dollars a gpu like the 2080 Super you will get very bottlenecked

Your CPU is fine -- I have the same one and so far haven't had any problems gaming on it.

I'd buy an RTX 2070 Super for $500 and just save the rest. You don't need to spend every single cent you can on a PC.

Save the money, and eventually (in maybe 2 years?) you might want a new CPU, so carry over the GPU and build a new system with Ryzen 4000 or 5000 future CPUs.

Maybe i exagerated when i said 1000 dollars.. what I meant is that I don't want to pay 1000 on a GPU except if it's neccesary that much

Yep.

Get an RTX 2070 Super or AMD 5700XT -- they'll both give you incredible performance and are a good match for your CPU.

Save the rest of the money and get yourself something nice.

well then rx 5700 would be the best bang for the buck option and it will beat the gtx 770 by very large amount

okay, someone else suggested for a RTX 2070 Super though

They are very similar in performance, the 2070 Super is slightly higher-performing, but also more expensive. Basically it's just personal preference.

I have a 4770K with GTX 1070 and I'm still running games at high/ultra on a 1440p display. Either of those cards will be wonderful for you.

sidenote: I actually used to have your exact same combo of 4770K and GTX 770 - a GPU upgrade will rock your world.

you mean the xt model right? I would personally pick the 2070 Super.

No. you can flash rx 5700 to 5700 xt's bios. Then 5700 XT will be just around 2-5% better but still 15-20% more expensive.

well it is 5-8% better but over 20% more expensive.

Are you in the US?

Generally what I do is go to PCpartpicker.com, find the 2070 Super, sort by lowest price first, and find the first card that isn't crap.

I woudln't reccomend that unless OP is a serious tinkerer. It's not super easy to do, you have a chance of destroying your GPU, and it could lead to instability.

5700XT's drivers are already not-perfect, nobody needs more instability ontop

The rog strix are nice, but a bit more expensive, if you can get them that would be good as well.

Cheapest 2070 Super would be this:

https://ca.pcpartpicker.com/product/KRyqqs/evga-geforce-rtx-2070-super-8-gb-ko-gaming-video-card-08g-p4-2072-kr

but that's actually pretty expensive, so in this case I would recommend the 5700XT for about $200 less and only a few percent less performance
