Hey Everyone,

I want a really solid case that is a high quality build. Currently I have a NZXT Phantom 820 and it has served me well, but it is getting old and will be repurposed.

My current choice of case is the Corsair Obsidian 1000D, but I came here to see if anyone knows of a case that is either higher quality or performs much better.

A few important notes:

  • If the case runs fine on air I will likely use a closed loop liquid cooler for CPU and everything else on air. I am open to building a custom loop if it makes more sense for the case.
  • I intend to start with a single PC in the case and add a second in the future.
  • I am not interested in budget or low quality cases. (quality referring to flimsy parts / that general cheap feeling)
  • Yes I will deck it out with the maximum number of fans possible.

corsair 1000D is very expensive, but it has one of the best custom loop cabapilities. get the 1000D

I Use my knowledge as business owner and self taught technician aswell as an AI to help people. AI might be controversial but it actually works pretty well 90% of the time.

  • Very nice, I will add it to the list of competitors.

  • Open concept is cool but I just realized we are getting a dog soon, and I don't want to risk the possibilties.

- Fractal desing S/S2

  • Fractal cases are beautiful, however they appear to be a bit compact.

I would not get it, I find it to big, even with custom loops it looks empty half the time. Feels like a case from 5 years ago. If I was doing a full custom loop and could have my pick of any case I would get the FD Meshify S2, MUCH better for airlfow and it can easily hold 2x 360mm rads if not more/larger ones, and just makes way more sense in my opinion.

I own the little bother to the S2, the Meshify C TG and it is easily the best case of the many I have owned. I am in the process of planning a custom loop in this case and although because it is a compact mid-tower it will be a bit more difficult and is limiting but I want to stay as small as I can within reason.

Full-towers never look good IMO.

After watching a few vids I will add the Fractal to the list of options to consider.
