So as the title says I have a problem with my RX 560 4GB.

The problem is that when I install any driver I get artefacts. If I uninstall the driver everything is fine. I tried 2 different HDMI cables and a DisplayPort and it's the same. I use a Molex to 6-pin adaptor, but the PSU is decent 500W and I've used another GPU with the adapter before so I know the PSU it's ok.

Can I do something to get it working? Maybe flash another bios or something?

Or is it better to just return it if I manage to do so.

Just to add to this, Motherboard Bios should be checked and updated as necessary, as well as trying an older driver off of AMD's website to see if this helps at all. Make sure to use DDU to uninstall the current drivers.

The board BIOS has no connection. More likely he has not used DDU on his older VGA drivera

not it's not, if you have to use a molex adapter.

I WILL find your ITX build thread, and I WILL recommend the SIlverstone Sugo SG13B

Draws 400 watts under max load, for reference.

It's used, I don't know how old it is. Maybe 2 years. I don't know where to check if it has the latest firmware/vbios and no O.C. I mean I didn't do any. I just installed the driver and it gave me artefacts. The GPU doesn't overheat I downloaded a program and the temperature is ok.

I was just checking the motherboard bios. The motherboard is a Gigabyte H81M-S1 and it has the FF bios, I see on their website that an FH bios exists which is newer but there's 2 different revisions which have the same bios and I don't see anywhere what my board revision is. I mean on CPU-Z it says Rev 06 and Rev C2 and on gigabyte site there's Rev 2.0 and 2.1 motherboards who have FF bios and I don't know which one to download. Any help to choose the right rev bios?

I reinstalled windows, I don't think DDU will help. I just put this system togheter(it's not my main) and I wanted to add a GPU, the GPU came I tried to install the driver, installation complete but a lot of artefacts and then I reinstalled Windows just to be sure and after I installed the driver again I got artefacts again.

It's just an older PSU, I've used it in another system before and I had an molex to 6-pin adapter then as well. And the voltages are pretty decent in my opinion for a PSU with no 6-pin. Check picture.

Ok, if you say DDU will help but a full Windows reinstall didn't I will try DDU too but first can you help me choose the right bios update?

So I mentioned a bios update as its always good to keep that up to date, however it does not correlate with GPU performance as another user mentioned. Your 2 main things to try would be:

1. Use DDU in safe mode to uninstall all your old GPU drivers. Its generally a good idea to disconnect from the internet as well, so that once you are out of safe mode Windows doesnt try to update itself or go searching for other display drivers online. Revert to an older version of AMD radeon drivers if you are on the latest one (preferably one on the website that says Recommended(WQHL)). *Edited* Download the driver you are changing to before you start this process, so that once you are out of safe mode you have it ready to go.

2. Try a different PSU. from the pictures you sent, that looks ancient and sketchy. If you have to get power to the GPU from a molex to 6 pin adapter, it adds to the sketch even more and could be the source of your problem. even the slightest bit of resistance from that additional connection can cause unstable power delivery, let alone the PSU may not be delivering stable power to begin with.

CPU: Ryzen 7 5800X GPU: Sapphire Pulse RX 9070XT Motherboard: Asus ROG Strix X470-F RAM: Corsair 32GB Vengeance 3600Mhz PSU: Corsair RM850X White

1) a PSU functioning on another PC does not make it good

2) the voltages are the same, 12v 3.3v and 5v

3) 22 amps on the 12v rail sucks.

I will try DDU and if it doesn't work that's it, I will just send it back because the only other PSU I have is my personal one and I don't want to get that out of my PC just to try to make this GPU work because I'm not gonna put my own PSU in that system and to not have my PC anymore so it's no point in trying other PSU. I am not trying to spend even more on that PC, I just wanted to put one togheter because I had parts lying around and I just ordered a GPU which I thought it would be ok with that PSU. So yeah, no point in trying it with another PSU. Thanks for your help.

more or less, yeah. if you are running a GPU off a PCIe connector, you definitely want 30 amps or more.

Hi, thanks for the post. It's very helpful. I've one question maybe you could elucidate the answer for me,

I'm basically torn here on my next build, juggling options for graphics cards and I think that I have the candidates narrowed down, but let me know your opinion,

I'm trying to decide between the 1070 TI or the 1660 TIE Fighter variant, which one provides the greatest boost speed? Thoughts on positives/negatives for both, I can pick one up used on ebay from the first order - Thabks!!

You don't really need the better boost speed, you can just overclock if you want more Mhz. Just look on youtube for benchmarks 1070 Ti vs 1660 Ti and choose which one has better FPS in games and which you can get cheaper in your country. Like if they give the same FPS or maybe 5 Fps difference just go with the one you can get cheaper.
