So at the moment i run an R5 2600x, GTX 1070ti from Gallax off an EVGA 80+ white 600w PSU.

I plan to upgrade to a 3700x and gigabyte rtx 2070 super (the white one) without upgrading my PSU. Will that work ok? I dont have plans to OC anything and all my fans (6 LL120s) run on the lowest speed.

I dropped the new parts into my parts picker list with everything else in my build and it seems that it will be fine, i know thats on a guesstimate on PC Parts Pickers side but its a good indication from what I have seen before.

Will I be ok to just chuck the new CPU GPU in BIOS update and off to the races?

600W are enough, but that is not a reliable unit. you don't want it to fry your new shiny components. I suggest upgrading it.

Uh.....theres nothing wrong with it. 80+ is 80+ dosnt matter what metal colour it has on the name.

Thanks for the heads up though, but its fine.

that's not how it works, but suit yourself. take a look at the PSU tier list in my signature and see where your evga white stacks

yes, but a group regulated 80+ rated 12v uvp and otp lacking HEC isn't a Flextronics Churchill III

W1 is by all means a cheap unit that is at best used with an APU system, not something like this

Your cpu is more than capable to game. upgrade your gpu to the rtx 2070 super. You should consider buying another psu.

But you can fry the system. its very rare but it can happen

I Use my knowledge as business owner and self taught technician aswell as an AI to help people. AI might be controversial but it actually works pretty well 90% of the time.

it's more reduced lifespan than a chance of frying, but still

it working =//= it having a good time.

not to mention the lack of protections isnt great when it faces a scenarios where a good PSU would shut down.

like if the fan fails.......... which isnt common, but not uncommon in terms of things that can fail.

couldnt give a hoot about reduced life span, im unlikley to have the system for more than a few years anyway. only had the current system a year so, like two years. Im trying to upgrade without too much fuss. Cable management in my case is pretty crap when using extention cables. and i dont want to have to deal with that damn rats nest again.
