Just get a dell s2240M or acer H226HQL. They are most importantly better than these LG IPS monitors display quality wise (although ironically LG is the one that manufactures their panels lol), and they cost less and look better.

Edit: S2240M was selling on microcenter with online ordering for 119$ recently, maybe it's still selling at that price. Otherwise, the acer and the dell are usually 139$.

Go with this instead or the AcerBid. S2340M Dell.

The nice thing is Best Buy carries these and will price match newegg/amazon. It was on newegg for 159, and I picked it up at my local Best Buy. No worries about dead pixels, etc. IPS has glow, but mine is only bottom right and small and glow can really bother some people, so if you can exchange a few at a local store to get a "good one"? You might save yourself some trouble.

The Dell looks exactly like a Mac screen as far as picture. Same glossy glass panel. Only negative would be no HDMI. Acerbid has better inputs but usually costs a bit more. My previous Asus gaming monitor looked like junk compared to the IPS Dell. The input lag isn't bad at all, and I play FPS games. Also a pretty sexy looking monitor. :)

CPU:24/7-4770k @ 4.5ghz/4.0 cache @ 1.22V override, 1.776 VCCIN. MB: Z87-G41 PC Mate. Cooling: Hyper 212 evo push/pull. Ram: Gskill Ares 1600 CL9 @ 2133 1.56v 10-12-10-31-T1 150 TRFC. Case: HAF 912 stock fans (no LED crap). HD: Seagate Barracuda 1 TB. Display: Dell S2340M IPS. GPU: Sapphire Tri-x R9 290. PSU:CX600M OS: Win 7 64 bit/Mac OS X Mavericks, dual boot Hackintosh.
