Is there a way for me to reset Windows 7 to default through an option in the bios? I'm using a copy of Windows that cane with my laptop a few years ago. Because of this, I have no disc. I remember resetting back to default almost 2 years ago when building my current desktop, but forgot how I did it.

What is the Make and Model of the laptop? Have you ever installed a FRESH copy of Windows 7 on it since you purchased it? By fresh, I mean straight from a retail Windows 7 install DVD, with no OEM software or anything?

As long as your recovery partition is intact, then you usually just press a key or combination of keys (Often F11 or F10) during POST (When the BIOS screen flashes, but before Windows starts to load).

OEM computers often have a recovery partition on the hard drive. Usually you have to boot to it by pressing a key before it boots to Windows. It's often either f2, f9, or f11, you might have to look it up for your computer (assuming it does have one). You could probably check in Disk Management if there is a partition, sometimes they are hidden in Windows Explorer I think.

It's a Gateway laptop originally. I copied the OS to an SSD though. I think I have a USB drive big enough for an ISO though
