Gigabyte Winforce 1060 fan rattle

I have this card and it makes an extremely obnoxious rattle from the fans. It happens at virtually every RPM. I sent the card to Gigabyte shortly after I got it, and they did nothing and sent it back. I've just lived with it but it's starting to drive me crazy again. I've googled but every thread I come across on reddit or any other site for that matter is either DOA with few or no replies, has no helpful replies, or just suggests an RMA.

 

I'm considering taking the fan shroud off and either replacing it with case fans + zip ties or an aftermarket solution (I can't seem to find a decent one in that regard, I.E. one that isn't overly large). Does anyone have any sort of suggestion?

I'd recommend you strap on some other fans, CPU fans rather than case fans as they're built for static pressure rather than air flow. "I can't think of a reason not to do this" - Linus Sebastian
